New scanners provide enhanced diagnostic care for patients

Aug 25, 2026

More than 2,800 patients in Saskatchewan have benefitted from sharper, more detailed images thanks to state-of-the art scanners in Saskatchewan. The province is now home to two of four StarGuide scanners in Canada. This enhanced technology was first introduced to the province in April 2025 at Regina General Hospital following a $2.1 million capital investment from the Ministry of Health.

RUH trauma team brings life-saving training to northern Saskatchewan

A team of trauma specialists from Royal University Hospital travelled more than 1,000 kilometres north to Stony Rapids, one of Saskatchewan's most remote communities, to train local first responders and health-care workers in emergency care. The program is funded by donors, including a $300,000 gift from Orano Canada.
