Cameco

Over the years, Cameco has invested wisely and generously in the health of our community, and they’ve encouraged others to do the same. The Royal University Hospital Foundation is grateful for Cameco’s exemplary leadership and support of healthcare at Royal University Hospital and across our community.

In addition to contributing to individual campaigns, Cameco sponsors our annual golf tournament and Royal Ball. Their generous support and leadership over the years have been invested in research, education and patient care at Royal University Hospital.

  • In 2014, the Cameco Cares Concert Series debuted, with the Barenaked Ladies hitting the stage at the Delta Bessborough Gardens. Ticket proceeds totalled $160,000, all of which was donated in support of the Royal University Hospital Foundation.
  • In 2012, Cameco helped raise more than $400,000 during the Bring it Home Radio-a-thon supporting the Every Heart Matters Campaign. They donated $125,000 to match donations from 40 communities across the province. This matching commitment helped make Saskatchewan’s first full-time Cardiac Electrophysiology Lab a reality at RUH.
  • In 2010, Cameco donated $365,000 to the Royal Vital Care Campaign for the purchase of vital sign monitors in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at RUH. In announcing this gift, Cameco issued a challenge to other corporations and organizations to step up and help us reach the goal of $2.8 million to place new vital sign monitors in all the critical care units at RUH.
  • During the successful $15 million Royal Care Campaign, Cameco pledged $1.5 million for creation of the Cameco Chair in Aboriginal Health.
