Who can join Women Leading Philanthropy?
Women Leading Philanthropy (WLP) is inclusive and includes a diverse group of women who will pool their donations to fund innovative health-care initiatives led by female physicians, practitioners and researchers at Royal University Hospital (RUH).
How are the funds disbursed?
A $100,000 grant will be voted on each September by the WLP donors and awarded to an innovative female- led health-care project.
How can a new donor join?
There are several ways you can become a WLP donor at RUH Foundation:

What is the minimum annual donation commitment?
Join today with a single, high-impact annual donation:
- $1,200 (or $100/month)
- $600 (or $50/month) for women <40 years
*A charitable tax receipt will be issued by RUH Foundation for 100% of your donation.
What payment method can I use for my annual donation?
Donors can fulfill their annual commitment with a single annual donation or through convenient monthly donations. Annual donations can be made with Cash, Debit, Mastercard or Visa and monthly contributions can be deducted from your bank account or credit card.

- 3 exclusive events per year:
- Inspiration Event + Project Update (January) – A dynamic keynote speaker will inspire our WLP donors and the successful WLP grant recipient will provide a project update.
- Celebration Event (June) – Donors will learn about and celebrate the impact the WLP funded grant has made so far towards improving healthcare in our community.
- Final Impact Report and Annual Voting Meeting (September) – Donors will receive a final report on how the WLP funded project has transformed healthcare in our community AND three new short-listed projects will be voted on and one project will be awarded another $100,000 through the WLP program.

Is enrollment and renewal limited to the first quarter of the year?
No. You and other women may join anytime throughout the year; however, you are encouraged to join by Sept. 1 of each year to ensure you are able to vote for which project will be supported that year.
Can I join for only one year?
Yes. Currently, you are not required to make a multi-year commitment; however, we ask that you consider renewing your WLP membership each year with an annual contribution or continue your convenient monthly donations.
Is WLP restricted to women?
Yes. However, we gladly accept contributions from all donors.
