Nutrien

For over 30 years, Nutrien has supported advances in health care in our community, donating generously for patients and their families at Royal University Hospital.

Since 1990, Nutrien has said ‘Yes’ to RUH. When we’ve needed funds for important initiatives, Nutrien has shown great generosity and commitment to health care in our community.

  • In 2013, the new Nutrien PET-CT Centre was unveiled at RUH, thanks to generous donations made to the Picture This! Campaign. As part of the Nutrien Molecular Imaging Centre, the PET-CT Centre provides earlier diagnoses and faster treatments for patients and their families. Thanks to Nutrien, patients no longer have to travel out of province for PET-CT scans.
  • Nutrien also showed their remarkable generosity in 2010, with a $1 million contribution to the Royal Vital Care Campaign for the purchase of vital sign monitors in Labour & Delivery and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • During the Royal Care Campaign, Nutrien donated $1.5 million for creation of the Nutrien Chair in Clinical Research. Research Chairs such as this go a long way in attracting top physicians to RUH by offering them dedicated research time to carry out their work. The first appointment to the Nutrien Chair in Clinical Research was Dr. Paul Babyn, a specialist in radiology and the diagnosis of illness in children.
  • Back in 1990, Nutrien was the lead donor in a campaign to raise funds for the first MRI scanner in Saskatchewan by pledging $1.5 million in matching funds with the community. Thanks to its generosity and leadership, our $3 million goal was reached in short order. The upgraded Nutrien MRI Centre was dedicated in 2009 in recognition of Nutrien’s continued philanthropy.
  • Nutrien is also the presenting sponsor of our annual fundraising gala, the RUH Foundation Royal Ball, and the Greek Gourmet Feast. Their staff kindly volunteer at the Ball.
