Goal Achieved: Neurosurgical Stereotactic Robot Fully Funded
RUH Foundation is proud to announce that, thanks to donor support and a generous matching gift from Merlis Belsher and family, the Foundation has met its fundraising goal to help purchase a state-of-the-art neurosurgical stereotactic robot—a groundbreaking advancement that will significantly improve surgical precision and patient recovery outcomes.
“This is a defining moment in our Foundation’s history,” said Erin Eccleston, Chair of RUH Foundation’s volunteer Board of Directors. “The stereotactic robot is a game-changer for brain surgery in Saskatchewan, and we are incredibly grateful to every donor who helped make this possible.”
A Year of Impact: $11 Million Raised to Advance Patient Care at RUH
Royal University Hospital Foundation, in partnership with thousands of generous donors, raised more than $11 million in 2024-25 to advance innovation and excellence in patient care at Royal University Hospital (RUH).
“This past year has been defined by extraordinary generosity, deep compassion, and an unwavering commitment to improving health care for all Saskatchewan residents,” said Jennifer Molloy, CEO of RUH Foundation, during the Foundation’s Annual General Meeting held on June 10. “Thanks to our donors, we continue to fund innovation, provide life-saving equipment, and ensure world-class care is accessible to the people who need it most.”
In 2024-25, RUH Foundation granted $4.85 million to support priority initiatives in cardiology, mental health, neurology, oncology, research and education, stroke, support services, surgery and trauma.
An additional $4.65 million was raised and earmarked for future capital grants to meet emerging needs and support long-term health-care transformation.
Since 1983, $194 Million Raised to Transform Care
Since its inception in 1983, RUH Foundation has raised $194 million to transform care at the province’s leading acute-care and teaching hospital. These funds have supported the purchase of new medical technology, ground-breaking research, and highly specialized medical training.
The Foundation also expressed heartfelt gratitude to retiring board members Joe Vidal and Dr. Marilyn Baetz. Three additional new members join us: Dr. Mita Manna, Pam Leyland and Garth MacDonald. We’re excited to welcome them to our board and the RUH Foundation family.
The 2024-25 Annual Report and audited financial statements will be available later in June at ruhf.org.
“Donors are the heart of everything we do. Your support is transforming care today while building a healthier tomorrow. Thank you for believing in the power of hope, healing, and health innovation.” — Jennifer Molloy, CEO, RUH Foundation |
