About Us
Established in 1983, Royal University Hospital (RUH) Foundation supports Royal University Hospital, the epicentre for Saskatchewan’s medical care. Through collaboration, innovation and community, our goal is to improve health care for everyone in the province.
Through generous donor support, RUH Foundation has raised and invested more than $194 million of donor funds into innovative research, education, and patient care priorities for health-care advancements at RUH. Working together with donors and medical teams, we are helping to save and improve lives.
RUH continues to enhance its programs and services through innovation, technology and research, ultimately improving patient outcomes. This provides a great opportunity for donors to support transformational care for patients and provide a difference in health care for the people of Saskatchewan. RUH Foundation continues to partner with the Saskatchewan Health Authority to make that happen.

Imagine Canada Accreditation
In May 2014, Royal University Hospital Foundation was awarded the highest level of accreditation and shared the distinction of being one of the first charitable organizations in Saskatchewan to be accredited under Imagine Canada’s National Standards Program. In 2019, RUH Foundation was successfully re-accredited for five years. With this achievement, we join a growing community of more than 240 organizations dedicated to operational excellence.
The Standards Program is a Canada-wide set of shared standards for charities and not-for-profits designed to strengthen practices and ensure transparency in five fundamental areas:
- Board governance
- Financial accountability and transparency
- Fundraising
- Staff management
- Volunteer involvement
Our policies and procedures in the five areas of compliance were evaluated by a group of volunteers from the sector, and were found to be compliant with the Standards Program.
