George and Marion Horton: A Legacy of Trust
George Horton and Marion Horton believed that supporting health care was one of the most meaningful ways to give back to their community. Inspired by the compassionate care their parents received at Saskatoon hospitals, the siblings arranged their legacy gift in 2001, including RUH Foundation in their estate plans more than two decades before it would be realized. They became members of the Royal Legacy Giving Society, joining a community of donors committed to strengthening health care through legacy giving.
George, a lifelong Saskatoon resident and well-known business owner, and Marion directed their gift to the area of greatest need, trusting the Foundation to respond to emerging priorities for patients and families.
With Marion’s passing in 2017 and George’s in 2024, their gift has now been realized. We reflect with gratitude on the foresight and trust behind it, a legacy that continues to strengthen health care in Saskatchewan and shows how planned giving can help meet the needs of both today and tomorrow.
