SASKATOON – Saturday evening, guests of Royal University Hospital Foundation’s Royal Middle Earth Ball presented by Nutrien were taken on a journey to the lands where elves and hobbits reside!
This sold out fantasy event at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Bessborough raised over $234,000 (net) from sponsors, ticket purchasers and donors to enhance the Trauma Program at Royal University Hospital.
Over the next ten years, Royal University Hospital Foundation (RUH Foundation) will invest donor support to ensure the Trauma Program at Royal University Hospital is a leader in Canada by investing in trauma research, new technology and equipment and sub-specialty training for our medical teams who will save lives today and into the future.
“The lives lost and lives changed forever after the April 6, 2018, Humboldt Broncos tragedy will not be forgotten within our hospital,” says RUH Foundation CEO Arla Gustafson. “The Legacy Fund for Trauma Care in honour of the Humboldt Broncos will ensure that Saskatchewan’s busiest Trauma Centre at RUH will continue to be ready whenever the 1000-plus per year trauma patients and their families arrive in our Emergency Department.”
