October 17, 2022

A magical collection of wizards and centaurs, owls and lions, and other enchanting individuals and creatures gathered Saturday evening and raised $300,732 to help transform surgical care at Royal University Hospital.

The assembled converged on Royal University Hospital Foundation’s Royal Wizard’s Chronicle Ball: Harry visits Narnia presented by Nutrien to show their support for Foundation’s Mission Possible: Operation New O.R. campaign. A special thank you to Nutrien for matching all event proceeds in the amount of $150,000!

Proceeds raised from the event at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Bessborough is funding much-needed new state-of-the-art equipment and other enhancements to RUH’s current operating rooms and related areas. RUH’s surgical teams do many of the province’s most complex and specialized types of surgeries involving the heart, brain, spine and cancers, to name a few, in operating rooms built in 1978.

“The new equipment and other enhancements funded through the generous support of donors will help ensure patients from across the province continue receiving exceptional surgical care in Saskatchewan at RUH well into the future,” says Jennifer Molloy, CEO, RUH Foundation.

Support from the following Royal Wizard’s Chronicle Ball sponsors was tremendous: Presenting and Matching Sponsor: Nutrien; Guest Photo Sponsor: NexGen Energy Ltd.; Reception Sponsor: RBC Wealth Management Philips Hager & North Investment Counsel; Dinner Sponsor: SaskTel; Wine Sponsor: Clark Roofing; Entertainment Sponsor: McKercher LLP; Diamond Sponsors: Associated Radiologists LLP, Delta Hotels by Marriott Bessborough, Handy Special Events, Novatex, S.O.
