My name is Dr. Aly Ghoneim and as a cardiac surgeon at Royal University Hospital (RUH), I deal with some of the most complex heart surgeries in the province.

Hello, my name is Dallas Carpenter. I am a 45-year-old husband and father of two teenagers. I am alive today thanks to the lifesaving surgery I received at Royal University Hospital.

We feel blessed and grateful that donors like you who have supported RUH were there for us in 2020 when we needed surgical care, especially since it was in the middle of a pandemic – Thank you. It was a normal fall morning as Jeanie Story from Swift Current was getting ready for work. Suddenly she thought she saw her dog behind her. She turned and looked over her shoulder. Then she remembered her dog had sadly died months earlier. A part of her knew this and still, she had to turn around. Walter Koob was born on the family farm in the R.M. of Viscount in 1928. He grew up on the family farm in the Meacham district and went to Lucasville School. In the winters, Walter worked off the farm. He worked in Saskatoon at the Wheat Pool Flour Mill and as a strong young man, he often carried up to 200 lb. bags of flour on his shoulder (loading rail cars) for his entire shift.
